Resolution - Public Health Services:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute the Health and Human Services Commission Grant Agreement Contract No. HHS001081400002, and all related documents, under the Prevention and Behavioral Health Promotion Grant Program (PBHP), by and between the City of Lubbock, and the State of Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Item Summary
The Prevention and Behavioral Health Promotion Grant Program (PBHP) Contract was initially awarded to the Public Health Department in 2020 to establish a Prevention Resource Center (PRC) for Region 1. The role of the PRC is to serve as a hub for updated and accurate information about substance use disorders. The PRC will inform the community about best practices, collect and disseminate data, and coordinate trainings and events.
Contract No. HHS001081400002 is a grant agreement that has been awarded to the Public Health Department for an additional 5 years. The purpose of this grant agreement is to provide prevention and behavioral health promotion (PBHP) strategies in alignment with the Spectrum of Mental, Emotional and Behavioral Health Interventions (Fostering Healthy Mental, Emotional, and Behavioral Development in Children and Youth: A National Agenda). The PBHP Grant Program includes Youth Prevention Services, Community Coalition Partnership, and Prevention Resource Centers.
The grant agreement is effective on September 1, 2024, and terminates on August 31, 2029. This document requires an electronic signature.
Fiscal Impact
The total amount of the grant agreement will not exceed $2,741,580 from September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2029. A 5% local match is required for this grant.
For state Fiscal Year 2025, September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025, allocations are as follows:
The total system agency share is $470,778.
The total required local match is $23,538.
The total contract value is $494,316.
