Resolution - Public Works Water Utilities: Consider a resolution rejecting all bids for the Single Phase Pole-Mounted Transformers, for the Bailey County Well Field, as advertised in ITB 24-18114-LV.

Item Summary

An Invitation to Bid (ITB) was issued for the purchase of 24 pole-mounted transformers to be used in the Bailey County Well Field. These pole-mounted transformers will assist to maintain the electrical distribution infrastructure throughout the wellfield. In response to ITB 24-18114-LV the following bids for 24 units were received.   Vendor Cost per Unit Amount KEREC, Seoul, South Korea $2,187 $52,488 PulseMAC Solutions, LLC, San Antonio, Texas $3,070 $73,680 MVA Power, Montreal, Quebec, Canada $3,959 $95,016 Kijero, LLC, Morgan Hill, California $7,625 $183,000 The lowest unit cost far exceeds the anticipated cost for the transformers. The lowest unit cost received in this bid was $2,187 per unit. This is a $797 increase from the previous contract, which is more than a 50% increase from the previous contract. Water Utilities recommends rejecting all bids in order to rebid this item to encourage a more competitive bidding process.
