All 15 will be replacements for vehicles lost in accidents during the last two years. The purchase of the vehicles will include the cost of the up-fitting equipment and the installation, which will be done by a third-party vendor. Requests for Quick Quotes was sent to 3 vendors: Caldwell Country Chevrolet of Caldwell, Texas; Lake Country Chevrolet of Jasper, Texas; and Reliable Chevrolet of Richardson, Texas. Caldwell Country Chevrolet and Lake Country Chevrolet submitted Quick Quote bids. Caldwell Country Chevrolet of Caldwell, Texas Caldwell Country Chevrolet’s bid, made under BuyBoard Contract 601-19, did not include the cost of equipment and up-fitting. The Fleet Operations Staff recommends purchasing the 15 vehicles using the bid from Lake Country Chevrolet because it did include the cost of equipment and up-fitting.

Fiscal Impact

The cost of the 15 vehicles, their equipment, and the up-fitting services in the amount of $1,069,495.11 will be paid from 3 separate funds:   Risk Management Account  $361,524.37 LPD Insurance Deductible $15,000.00 LPD Wrecked Vehicle Account $692,970.74
