Resolution - Public Transit Services: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 27123389, with Creative Bus Sales, to purchase six Lone Star Promaster paratransit vans.

Item Summary

Purchase Order 27123389 in the amount of $965,478, is for the purchase of 6 Lone Star Promaster paratransit vans from Creative Bus Sales of Irving, Texas, per Contract SW0797C.  The paratransit vans will replace older vehicles that have exceeded their useful life, which will reduce maintenance and parts costs.      The paratransit vans will be purchased through the Oklahoma Office of Management & Enterprise Services Statewide Contract, through an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Lubbock and the State of Oklahoma.

Fiscal Impact

Citibus will use Federal FY 2021 and 2022 Section 5339(a) Bus and Bus Facility grant funds and FY 2022 Section 5310 funds to purchase six (6) Lone Star Promaster paratransit vans.  Transportation Development Credits (TDC's) provided by the Texas Department of Transportation will be used as the local match for the Section 5339(a) grants. This purchase will result in no additional cost to the City of Lubbock.
