Grant Agreement between Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Office of Energy and the City of Oshkosh for the Energy Innovation Grant Program ($55,477.00)
BACKGROUND
Each year, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin selects eligible entities to receive the Energy Innovation Grant based on the agency’s energy priorities, emerging trends, and public input. The grant program supports a diverse range of energy projects, related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, energy planning, and other initiatives. The City submitted a grant application and was awarded $55,477 of funds to develop a Comprehensive Energy Study for the City of Oshkosh.
ANALYSIS
As a recipient of this grant, the City will fund a Comprehensive Energy Study of its municipal operations. This study will help the City understand its energy usage and identify specific opportunities for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to integrate sustainability concepts into city policies and day-to-day operation as part of the 2024 City Manager Goals. The study will be completed in summer of 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City will be awarded grant funds totaling $55,477 for the Comprehensive Energy Study. Match funds will be provided through in-kind staff time.
RECOMMENDATION
The City approves the grant agreement between the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Office of Energy and the City of Oshkosh for the Energy Innovation Grant Program.
