TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jim Collins, Director of Transportation DATE: December 10, 2024 SUBJECT: Ord 24-669 Amend Section 27-35 and Appendix 27B of the Oshkosh Municipal Code Pertaining to Parking Regulations Within City-Owned Parking Lots in Relation to the Construction of the New East 9th Avenue Parking Lot (Transportation Committee Recommends Approval)

BACKGROUND

The City constructed a new public parking lot in connection with the Sawdust District Plan which includes the T. Wall development and Riverwalk Extension.

ANALYSIS

The new parking lot in the area of East 9th Avenue needs to be added to the municipal code.   At this time staff proposed and that the new parking stalls will be free with no time restriction other than overnight (2-5 a.m.).

BOARD/COMMISSION INFORMATION

The Transportation Committee supports this recommendation (5-0).

FISCAL IMPACT

The fiscal impact of this ordinance change is parking signage.

RECOMMENDATION

I recommend approval of the ordinance.
