Tax Increment ReInvestment Zone Board (TIRZ) Appointments/Reappointments (Mayor Gutierrez)

BACKGROUND

Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZs) are special zones created by City Council to attract new investment in an area.
These zones help finance the costs of redevelopment and promote growth in areas that would otherwise not attract sufficient market development in a timely manner.
The City of Schertz Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) Board consists of nine Board Members. Five of the nine board members had terms that expired on March 31, 2025.
The City Council reappointed Councilmember Mark Davis, Mr. Clark McChesney, Mr. Brad Pittenger to the TIRZ Board and appointed Councilmember Paul Macaluso and Mayor Ralph Gutierrez. With four of the five positions being filled, there is one position open.
