Item Summary
The City of Lubbock Health Department was awarded a grant from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, to support substance use disorders prevention. The department proposes to contract with the Department of Community, Family and Addiction Sciences, a department of Texas Tech University, to help build department capacity for new programs.
Texas Tech University will provide 1 staff person certified in substance use prevention (Certified Prevention Specialist), 2 graduate research assistants, and 4 undergraduate work study students, to provide consultation and guidance to the Community Coalition Program (CCP) and Prevention Resource Center (PRC).
Fiscal Impact
Amendment No. 2 increases the cost of the contract by amount of $117,600 each year from September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2024.
