| Item Summary |
The City of Lubbock and Lubbock County agree to continue to staff the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit (LMSCU). Each of the participating agency representatives will remain in place and conduct investigations of violent crime wherever it may occur or be discovered in Lubbock County. The Interlocal Agreement with Lubbock County and the participation with the LMSCU originated in FY 2018-19 and facilitated combating violent crimes in Lubbock County. The Lubbock Police Department (LPD) participation in the LMSCU continues to have a positive impact as the LMSCU successfully performs its mission to further the ability of our local law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate, and deter violent criminal activity throughout Lubbock County. |
| Fiscal Impact |
| The LPD will remain responsible for the salary, benefits and overtime of the LPD officers assigned to the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit. There is no additional cost to the City of Lubbock. |
