Purchase of Furniture for Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) Expansion

Proposed Motion:

Move City Council approve the purchase of furniture for Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) expansion, utilizing the State of Arizona Contract No. CTR067414, with Wist Office Products, in an amount not to exceed $149,546.35.

Background/Discussion:

On December 7, 2023, Council approved an agreement with Chasse Building Team, Inc., for construction of the Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) Multi-Generational Facility Expansion. This project will add 11,000 square feet of programming space to the existing facility and include three multipurpose rooms, two shaded patios, a fitness room, game area, restrooms, event hall, lobby and reception area with separate entrance from the existing TRC.

The new space requires sturdy, commercial grade furniture to accommodate a variety of active and passive recreation programs for all ages and abilities. Furniture and finishes selected, including various tables and seating options, are easy to clean and maintain while providing a safe, welcoming, and functional environment for all to enjoy.

Evaluation:

The State of Arizona competitively solicited and awarded a contract for statewide furniture, products, and related services. The City has a current agreement with the State of Arizona allowing for the cooperative usage of the State’s contracts. Staff recommends the cooperative use of this contract.
