Pursuant to Resolution No. 4464 of the City of Chandler and to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Mayor's Youth Commission and to the general public that the Mayor's Youth Commission will hold a REGULAR MEETING open to the public on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., at Chandler Police Department Main Station Community Room, 250 E. Chicago St. One or more Commissioners may be attending by telephone.

Persons with disabilities may request a reasonable modification or communication aids and services by contacting the City Clerk's office at (480) 782-2181(711 via AZRS). Please make requests in advance as it affords the City time to accommodate the request.

Town of Florence Teen Leadership Symposium - September 13th, 2024, 10am - 3pm

Background/Discussion

The City of Chandler Mayor's Youth Commission is invited to participate in the Town of Florence's Teen Leadership Symposium. This event will take place on September 13, 2024 from 10am - 3pm at the Viney Jones Library and Community Center in Florence, Arizona. This is a free event with lunch provided for all teens. The City of Chandler will provide transportation for up to eight (8) interested Commissioners who are NOT participating in the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Youth Conference. Agenda information is attached.

City of Chandler Sponsorship Funding Program Panel Representative - September 17, 2023, 5pm - 8pm

Background/Discussion

The City of Chandler is committed to supporting special events that strengthen community vitality and foster healthy, enriched lives. We have a short-term grant program that aids non-profit organizations in producing special events that enhance Chandler's neighborhoods. Since the grant's inception in 2002, City Council has awarded $30,000 annually to events hosted in Chandler. Recipients are selected by a six-member panel, comprised of residents from city-appointed boards and commissions, including the Mayor's Youth Commission. One representative from the Mayor's Youth Commission will represent our group during this selection process.

Parade of Lights Judging - December 7, 2024, 5pm

Background/Discussion

Every December, the City of Chandler holds the Tumbleweed tree lighting and parade of lights. The parade of lights brings local businesses, community organizations, families and floats together for one glowing evening in celebration of the holidays. This parade is also a competition, with the Mayor's Youth Commission serving as the esteemed judges. This judging opportunity is for seniors only and will be limited to three Commissioners.
