Chambersburg Road/City Of Dayton Paved Bike Path Trail - Project Funding

Purpose and Background

The attached legislation will authorize an application for a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) grant through the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) using Federal Fast Act Funds. This bike path will be a continuation of the bike path that will be built next year on Chambersburg Road West. This bike path will start on Chambersburg Road at Endicott Road and will then enter the City of Dayton and run south through the Warrior Soccer Club property to Fishburg Road and then continue west and across Rip Rap Road, ultimately connecting to the Great Miami River Trail. The total project cost is estimated at $1,046,760 and the application is requesting $500,000 in federal funds (43.4% of the project cost).

Purpose and Background

Annually, each County Budget Commission meets and submits to the City for approval the millage for property taxes. This resolution is the last necessary step of the Montgomery County tax budget process set forth in state law. The resolution formally accepts the property tax rates and the dollar amounts calculated by the Montgomery County Budget Commission. Passage is necessary to "officially" put the levies in place.
