BACKGROUND
The county allocated $9,200,000 in road funds to be used as the County’s share for improvements to various city streets in the City of Texas City. The project consists of the replacement of pavement with concrete and utility replacement on 9th Ave. (Palmer Hwy) between 14th Street and Bay Street and the replacement of pavement with concrete and utility replacement on 6th Street between Texas Avenue and 11th Avenue.
ANALYSIS
The County will partially finance a share of the Project up to a maximum expenditure of $9,200,000. The City will be responsible to provide funding for or obtain funding from other outside sources for all additional Project costs, if any. Nothing herein however, shall preclude the County from providing additional funds for this Project, but the County shall be under no obligation to do so.
If the actual Project costs are less than the $9,200,000 County allocation, then the County and City may mutually agree to utilize the difference on another 2008 County road bond project within the city.
