ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-088,  approving the purchase of seventeen (17) police vehicles through Buyboard - Local Government Purchasing Cooperative.  (Police Department).

BACKGROUND

Six (6) Patrol units, 2017 Tahoe, Six (6) Unmarked, 2017 Ford Utilities, Two (2) supervisor units, 2017 Tahoe minus cage. Two (2) K9 units, 2017 Tahoe, One (1) 2017 3/4 ton Chevy Pick up, animal control.  (Police Department)

The police Dept. is requesting approval for the purchase of 6 Patrol PPV Tahoe's black and white, 6 unmarked Ford Utilities, silver, 2 supervisor's PPV Tahoe's black and white, 2 K9 unites PPV Tahoe's, black and white, and 1 3/ ton Chevy Pic-up, white. The listed vehicles would be purchased form Caldwell Country Chevrolet through the buy board contracting pricing #430-13. The total purchase price for these vehicles and emergency equipment is 687,125.62 which will be funded by the capitol equipment replacement fund, which was approved in the city budget FY2016-17

The police dept. is requesting approval for the purchase of the said 17 vehicles listed above The new vehicles will be replacing the Ford Crown Vic's that have been marked for replacement. Buy Board worksheet attached for your review.
