ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-092, ratifying prior Texas City approval of an amendment to an raw industrial water supply contract with Gulf Coast Water Authority. (City Engineer)
BACKGROUND
The City has an industrial water supply contract with GCWA that can provide up to 19,000 gallons per day of untreated, raw water. The City acquired this water supply contract with the purchase of the property at 225 SH 146 South (Parks Maintenance Facility). There was a recent amendment to all industrial customer contracts to provide funding for major industrial distribution system projects (some work at the reservoir and rebuilding the industrial pump station). GCWA's Bond Counsel is requiring resolutions or orders as evidence that each contract amendment has been approved by the respective customer. Although already properly approved by Texas City, this Resolution ratifies approval of the October 2016 industrial customer contract amendment.
