ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Consider and take action on Ordinance No. 17-01, to amend the City of Texas City fiscal year 2016-17 budget to create an assistant emergency manager position and appropriate funding for the position. (Finance)

BACKGROUND

This budget amendment is to create an assistant emergency manager position and appropriate funding for the position.  The annual salary will be $52,000 and related benefits of approximately $10,000.  The job description is attached.

Half of the salary will be paid by the state's emergency management grant.

 

ANALYSIS

Budget amendment is as follows:

General Fund; Emergency Management Dept.:
Salaries and benefits expense       $62,000.00
EMPG Grant Revenue                   $26,000.00
Undesignated Fund Balance        ($36,000.00)
