ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Authorize the purchase and installation of one (1) Zetron IP Fire Alerting System from Northwest Radio through the competitive bid process in the amount of forty two thousand nine hundred twenty nine dollars and forty cents ($42,929.40).

BACKGROUND

ANALYSIS

The current alerting system uses the outdated analog platform which is incompatible with the newer digital technology required by the Galveston County Emergency Communications District. 

ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED

Replacement of internal parts of current system to upgrade to digital.
