ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Approve and award Bid # 2008-917 Motor and Pump Maintenance/Repair Annual Contract.

BACKGROUND

Bid packets were mailed to three (3) area vendors on July 31, 2008.  A bid tabulation is attached for your review.

Bids opened Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

This contract is for non-routine maintenance and repair of pumps and related drivers, controls and appurtenances; including emergency repairs to keep critical pumps operating.

ANALYSIS

The low responsible bid meeting all specifications was received from Hahn Equipment Company, Inc., in Houston, for the unit prices bid.  

It is my recommendation to award the annual contract to Hahn Equipment Company, Inc. and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission.

Fiscal Impact:

When emergency repairs or non-routine repairs of pumps and related appurtenances are required, contractor will submit a cost estimate based on the pricing in the contract.  Upon approval of the scope of work and cost estimate for each specific work request, City will issue a work order under the contract.
