Approve and award a contract for Bid No. 2024-443 Potable Water Tank Rehabilitation Project.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
On January 16, 2024, a notice to bidders was emailed to the Galveston County Daily News. The notice was published on January 23, 2024, and again on January 30, 2024, in accordance with state law. Bids were made available by ARKK Engineering via CivCastUSA.com. Bids were received and opened on February 8, 2024, at 2:00 P.M.
The lowest responsible meeting all requirements was I&S Tank Services, LLC with a total bid amount of $612,364.00. A letter of recommendation and a full bid tabulation are attached for you review. Funds are made available in the City of Texas City 2023/2024 Annual Budget account number 501705-55560.

RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of ARKK Engineers, LLC., and the Public Works Department to award Bid No. 2023-443 Potable Water Tank Rehabilitation Project, to I&S Tank Services, LLC., for the total bid amount of $612,364.00 and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve any change orders not to exceed 25% without bringing the matter going before the City Commission.
