RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the purchase of two (2) mowers as outlined by the FY25 ERP for the combined amount of $241,600.00.

BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)

This follows the approved FY25 Equipment Replacement Plan to replace mower units 3615 and 3616.  Total costs after trade-ins as follows is $241,600.00.  Units 3615 and 3616 are identical Toro 16' wide area mowers with $115,491.00 each budgeted for replacement, $230,982.00 total in the FY25 ERP.  The two mowers will be traded-in for $6,500.00 and $7,500.00 respectively towards the purchase price.  This leaves a balance of $10,618.00 remaining to cover the purchase of the two mowers. 

A Supplemental Budget Request (SBR) for $26,724.00 was submitted in the FY25 ERP to cover the combined anticipated increased costs for mower units 3615, 3616, and 3617.  Mowers 3615 and 3616 will use $10,618.00 of the $26,724.00 SBR to cover the remaining balance of the purchase price.  Part of the remaining $16,106.00 of the $26,724.00 SBR goes to mower 3617 as submitted in an additional Council memo.  There is $3,164.00 remaining in the SBR after the additional combined costs of all three mowers (3615, 3616, 3617) are covered.

Invitation for Bids were advertised on 11/22/24 and 11/29/24. One bid was received from Midland Implement Company.  Their bid meets specifications for the replacement mowers.

  • Not Approve

FISCAL EFFECTS

The bid received falls within the budget for the mower replacements.  No additional funding is needed from the approved FY25 budget.
