PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The City of Billings owns Lot 3 Sunset Subdivision 5th Filing, which is the previous site of the Dairy Queen at 1048 Grand Ave. The property was acquired several years ago in order to provide adequate right of way for the Grand Avenue widening project. The City does not need the property remainder and the land would better serve the public as private property.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
Council may:
- Approve the Resolution of Intent to Sell Lot 3 Sunset Subdivision 5th Filing and set a public hearing for August 13, 2012.
- Do not approve the Resolution of Intent to Sell Lot 3, Sunset Subdivision 5th Filing. The City would retain the property and be responsible for maintaining it.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are minimal administrative and advertising costs to the City of Billings.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the Resolution of Intent to sell Lot 3 Sunset Subdivision, 5th Filing, and set a public hearing for August 13, 2012.
