PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The City of Billings Fire Department has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,500 from Exxon Mobil Corporation. These funds will be used to purchase smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. City Council policy is that it must approve and accept any donation to the City of over $500.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Generous donations, such as this, allow the Billings Fire Department to provide and install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors free of charge. This proactive program enhances the overall safety of the citizens of Billings by providing the first defense against loss of life and property.
RECOMMENDATION
