PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The $750.00 donation from IAFF Local 521 will purchase fire prevention public education supplies that contain a fire safety message. The material will be handed out to children during fire prevention week activities and throughout the year during public education events. City policy requires that any donation exceeding $500.00 must be accepted by the Council before the funds can be expended.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may accept or reject the donation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Acceptance of this donation will allow the Fire Prevention Bureau to purchase public education supplies that will be given out at Fire Station Open Houses for Fire Prevention Week and during public education events throughout the year.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the $750.00 donation from IAFF Local 521 for the purchase of fire prevention public education supplies.
