The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will give its yearly presentation to the Planning Board, sharing information on active transportation plans, how biking and walking infrastructure increases safety, and how usage of trails has changed with the development of COVID-19.
BACKGROUND
The purpose of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is to advise the City Council, Mayor, County Commissioners, Planning Board, and all departments and boards of the City and County with regard to non-motorized transportation matters. There are 7 seats on BPAC. Three represent the City, three represent the County, and one represents the Planning Board. BPAC has 6 current members with one seat open in the County. The non-profit Billings TrailNet also has one ex-officio, non-voting position on BPAC.
BPAC is giving its annual presentation to the City Council, the County Commissioners, and Planning Board this summer during regularly scheduled meetings in July and August 2020. Topics from the presentation will include an overview of active transportation plans, how biking and walking infrastructure increases safety, and how usage of trails has changed with the development of COVID-19.
