Staff recommends that City Council accept a donation in the amount of $15,000 for Camp Blue Sponsorship.   

 

This item requests City Council approval to accept a $15,000 donation from Rimrock Credit Union to support Camp Blue, a week-long community engagement program for incoming 7th-grade students. The donation will fund program-related costs, including transportation, meals, apparel, and activities, and complies with Council policy requiring approval for donations over $500. Acceptance of the donation has no impact on the General Fund, as all expenses are fully supported by contributed funds.

Council policy requires that any donation exceeding $500 be approved by the City Council. City Council is being asked to accept a $15,000 donation from Rimrock Credit Union to sponsor Camp Blue. Camp Blue is a week-long program for incoming 7th-grade students that provides opportunities to interact with various first responders, with the goal of building positive relationships and fostering future school and community leaders. The donated funds will be used to help cover program costs, including transportation, lunches, snacks, t-shirts, and other activities throughout the week.
