Appointments to advisory boards, commissions, and committees are made by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council.

The creation of the Information Technology Advisory Commission and the Amend Recreation Center (ARC) Advisory Board (also known as the Courts Complex Advisory Board) were created on March 23, 2026 and April 27, 2026, respectively, and require members be appointed to begin their work in service of the City of Billings. These individuals have been appointed by the Mayor and require the consent of the Council to begin their terms of service.
