RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approves the outlined process attached for appointing members to the Billings Airport Authority Board.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On Monday, August 24th, 2026, the City Council approved the composition of the airport authority board. The next step in this process will be for City Council to create a three-member committee to review applicants for the Airport Authority Board. The notification to the public will be posted for 30 days. Applicants must fill out an application, submit a resume, and a letter of interest. City Council committee members will then be asked to review applicants and create a shortlist. This shortlist will then be brought before City Council for review and appointments.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Billings Logan International Airport has been moving through phase two of the airport governance transition plan. Phase two has many parts, but the next initiative is to install the airport authority board.

There are no fiscal responsibilities with this initiative.
