W.O. 12-12, Bench Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Extension Project will extend approximately 1,150 feet of sanitary sewer main and related improvements in Bench Boulevard.  It is necessary to complete this utility project prior to the reconstruction of Bench Boulevard by the Montana Department of Transportation.  The sewer main will be extended approximately 650 feet east of Lincoln Lane to Griffing Drive, and approximately 500 feet of sewer main will be extended south from Joyce Circle. This project was bid on June 12, 2012. After evaluating the bids, staff recommends a contract be awarded to Castlerock Excavating, Inc.

The Council may:
• Award a contract to Castlerock Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $189,184.30; or
• Do not award a construction contract.  If this project is not constructed, this portion of Bench Boulevard, which is being reconstructed by the Montana Department of Transportation in 2012 or 2013, will need to be cut to install sanitary sewer utilities when adjacent neighborhoods intended to be served by the new sewer desire City services.  This cut would then need to be patched on the new road surface.
