PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The City of Billings owns Lot 12 of Block 4 in the Sunset Subdivision, more commonly known as 1146 Grand Avenue, less the road right-of-way
that was used for the Grand Avenue widening project. The City does not need the property and staff believes it would better serve as private property. The Council is being asked to adopt a resolution of intent to sell the property, which will trigger the required public notifications, a public hearing and for the staff to seek bids for the property.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
Council may:
- Approve the Resolution of Intent to Sell Lot 12 of Block 4 in the Sunset Subdivision and set a public hearing for July 14, 2014
- Do not approve the Resolution of Intent to Sell Lot 12 of Block 4 in the Sunset Subdivision. The City would retain the property and be responsible for maintaining it.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are minimal administrative costs to the City of Billings. Expenses can be reimbursed from the property purchase price.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Resolution of Intent to sell Lot 12, Block 4, Sunset Subdivision.
