The Billings Fire Department has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,500 associated with the St. Vincent Hospital "Share Our Spirit" Program.  This grant funding comes from internal donations made by employees at St. Vincent that share a desire to help private and public organizations that contribute to the care, wellbeing, and quality of life for citizens and families in our community.  The Billings Fire Department responds to hundreds of medical calls that necessitates lifting  or moving a patient prior to transport to an area hospital.  St. Vincent's "Share Our Spirit" saw this grant as a way to improve overall patient care by funding the purchase of a creative lifting device/equipment that would minimize injuring the patient and enhance firefighter safety associated with lifting injuries.         

City Council may approve or disapprove accepting the $2,500 donation from St Vincent Healthcare Share Our Spirit Associate's Giving Campaign.

Accepting this donation will allow the Fire staff to purchase at least three of these patient lift devices which list for $749.00.

Staff recommends accepting the $2,500 donation from the employees of St. Vincent Healthcare under the Share Our Spirit Associate Giving Campaign for the purchase of these new patient lift devices.
