PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division of the Public Works Department on November 20, 2018 to purchase one (1) 2019 33,000 GVW single axle tote mount paint truck. This purchase will replace an existing truck that is included in the FY 2019 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP). The City received three (3) bids and Mark Rite Lines was the low bidder.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve purchasing one 2019 33,000 GVW single axle tote mount paint truck from Mark Rite Lines, or;
- Disapprove the purchase and reject all bids. If the new paint truck is not purchased, the Public Works Department will be required to continue using the existing truck that is nearing the end of its useful life. Maintenance costs will increase and reliability will decrease.
