RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council hold a public hearing and approve this ordinance on second reading, adding recently annexed property to Ward IV.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Dan Wells of Regal Land Development submitted a petition to annex land using the provisions of Section 7-2-4600, MCA. The property is located south of Sweetgrass Creek Drive between 54th and 58th Street West. The property is described as proposed Lot 1 of RL Subdivision. The metes and bounds description detailing the area to be annexed is attached to this staff report and the exhibit is included as an attachment to the Resolution of Annexation. The annexation includes all adjacent right-of-way of 58th Street West. The annexation containing 55.103 gross and 53.454 net acres. Upon Council approval, this annexation requires a change in the boundaries of Ward IV. Two readings are required for this action. The first reading and public hearing was held on September 27th.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve adding the subject property to Ward IV, or;
- Disapprove adding the subject property to Ward IV. Disapproval will not modify the boundary of Ward IV and will create a problem where property inside the City Limits is not within a City Ward.
