Approve IGA with AHCCCS for Supplemental Payments to Disproportionate Share Hospitals, which authorizes the County to contribute money to obtain Federal matching funds for the benefit of Southeast Arizona Medical Center.
Background:
As discussed at the recent work session with Southeast Arizona Regional Medical Center (SAMC), approval of this IGA will authorize the County to contribute up to $44,339 in order to obtain a federal match in the amount of $135,594 for the benefit of SAMC. The Board of Supervisors will later determine whether to make the contribution.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Review a financial plan to be put together by SAMC to determine how the County and federal funds would be spent and discuss with the City of Douglas whether it will contribute half of the $44,339
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The County will not be authorized to make a contribution to obtain the federal match.
