Information

Agenda Item Text:

Renew the 10-year lease agreement with the Arizona State Land Department for the Cooper Peak Communications Site, effective April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2021.

Background:

The county currently has a lease agreement with the Arizona State Land Department to provide us with access to the Cooper Peak Communications Site.  The lease is renewed every 10 years and is currently up for renewal through March 2021.  The lease is paid out of the Emergency Services budget and is subject to receive 50% of the payment back to the County throught the Emergency Management Performance Grant.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Forward the signed lease to the Arizona State Land Department.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If this lease renewal is not approved and we lose the use of our communications site on Cooper Peak, it would significantly impact communications services in portions of the County.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

Returned signed application to Elizabeth Philhower to be forwarded to the State.
