Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Douglas for reimbursement of the local match outlined in the Intergovernmental Agreement with AHCCCS for Supplemental Payments to Disproportionate Share Hospitals and Safety Net Care Pool to benefit Southeast Arizona Medical Center in an amount of up to $480,366.03 over a period of six fiscal years.
Background:
The Couty has agreed to provide the local match in an amount of up to $480,366.03 under an AHCCCS program that will result in a total amount of assistance for Southeast Arizona Medical Center in excess of $1.4 million; provided, however, that the County's match is conditioned on the City of Douglas reimbursing the County for the entire amount of the match. The Board recently approved an IGA with Douglas that provided for reimbursement, but the terms of the reimbursement were not finalized. Under this IGA, Douglas would reimburse the County for the entire amount of the match in five equal installments over five fiscal years beginning in the next fiscal year after the County makes the match.

Pay the local match to AHCCCS, when the amount is determined.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
There will be no mechanism in place for Douglas to reimburse the County for the match.
