Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for the County Attorney to represent the Industrial Development Authority in its dissolution.
Background:
The Industrial Development Authority of Cochise County informed the Board at a work session that its function has been completed and it desired to dissolve the corporation and return its remaining funds to Cochise County. The IDA asked if the County Attorney could assist in the dissoution. The County Attorney said it would look to see if it has the authority to do so. The County Attorney later determined that it could do so, but would need an IGA authorizing it. Accordingly, this agenda item is to approve that IGA.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Continue the corporate dissolution of the Industrial Development Authority.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The County Attorney cannot represent the Industrial Development Authority.
