Approve or reject all bids in response to Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 14-12-FAC-03 for the JP6 (Bowie) Addition/Alteration project.
Background:
IFB No. 13-44-SHF-03 was released on September 27, 2013. The bid was advertised in the Arizona Range News on October 2, and October 9, 2013 and posted on the County website. Bid notices were mailed to 41 contractors and two plan rooms were notified of the project. A pre-bid meeting/job walk was held on October 7, 2013.
Three bids were received prior to the bid closing date and time of October 24, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
Contractor Bid Amounts:
Building Excellence, Tucson, AZ $224,983.00
D Square Construction, Tucson, AZ $264,146.00
United Builders, Tucson, AZ $229,000.00
The lowest responsive and resonsible bid of $224,983.00 was approximately $75,000 higher than the engineering estimate of $150,000.
