Agenda Item Text:

Approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cochise County Board of Supervisors and Cenpatico Behavioral Health of Arizona, for the purpose of utilizing Cenpatico to provide critical incident stress management assistance to aid workers and County residents in the event of a mass emergency or disaster.

Background:

Since February of 2009 the Board of Supervisors has sanctioned 44 original Memoranda of Understanding between various local agencies and Cochise County’s Emergency Planning and Preparedness Program. The purpose and intent of all these MOU’s is to enhance the public health emergency preparedness of our community through engagement of local partners in providing space or services to assist the County in emergency situations. This Cenpatico MOU is similar to the SEABHS MOU approved three years ago.

This Behavioral Health MOU has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney's Office and their assistance with this effort is greatly appreciated.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The approval of the Board of Supervisors is respectfully requested.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Cochise County and Cenpatico Behavioral Health Services of Arizona will not be able to enter into the MOU and provide critical incident stress management assistance to aid workers and County residents in the event of a mass emergency or disaster.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

BOS Chairman and Clerk of the Board signatures are required.  Two original MOU's will be sent to the Clerk of the Board for signature on 4/6/11.  Please return one original fully executed MOU for Cenpatico to Health.  One may remain with the Clerk of the Board for filing purposes.
