Agenda Item Text:
Approve the Transferred Youth Grant for Adult Probation for Fiscal Year 2014/2015 in the amount of $2,000 effective July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Background:
Juveniles transferred to adult court are supervised by adult probation officers and are referred to necessary services, including treatment and education.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, funding which is not retained by the Administrative Office of the Courts will be used for treatment services for transferred youth.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Without Transferred Youth funding, juvenile transferred to adult court will have to seek alternative funding sources in order to address their treatment needs.
