Approve the award of Request For Price Quote (RFPQ) No. 15-06-FSD-04 to Wilkins Industries Inc. for the purchase of one Walking Floor Transfer Trailer for the Fleet Services/Solid Waste Departments in the amount of $65,632 plus any applicable tax.

Background:

RFPQ 15-06-FSD-04 was released on August 12, 2014.  Copies of the solicitation were sent to 5 known vendors, 3 responses were received prior to the solicitation closing date and time of August 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.  A solicitation tabulation is attached which references Wilkins Industries, Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible vendor.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Issue purchase order, inspect trailer upon delivery.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The impact of not approving would result in having to retain a trailer that has reached its designated replacement mileage resulting in a significant increase in maintenance and repair costs.
