Approve the award of Invitation for Bids (IFB) 15-17-SWD-04 to furnish and install a Landfill GPS System for the Solid Waste Department to AMW Machine Control, Inc. in the amount of $61,488.
Background:
IFB 15-17-SWD-04 was released on October 29, 2014. The bid was advertised in the Arizona Range News on November 5 and 12, 2014 and posted on the Public Purchase bid notification website. Two bid were received prior to the bid closing date and time of November 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. A bid tabulation is attached.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Process purchase order. Monitor contractor performance.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
This system will assist the Solid Waste Department in the monitoring, validating and verifying that the landfill is achieving maximum density compaction. By not reaching maximum density compaction a new landfill cell will need to be constructed.
