Approve the renewal of various contracts for Indigent Defense Contract Services to 13 attorneys and the addition of one new attorney listed in exhibit A for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
Background:
The Board of Supervisors has approved three Request for Qualifications to establish a qualified list of attorneys to provide indigent defense services for the Indigent Defense Coordinator. The terms of the contract include a provision to renew the contracts for up to four additional years in one year periods. This will be the first, second and third renewal periods. All current contract attorneys agreed to renew their contract with the exception of Wendell Hughes and Joseph Mendoza. This will be the original contract period for Eric Manch.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Assign work on a rotation basis. Monitor contract performance.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
