Agenda Item Text:
Accept Homeland Security grants in the amount of $7,149.16 for planning activities for border issues and enhanced protection capabilities.
Background:
The grant performance period is June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. This grant is an out of cycle grant awarded from fallout money from a previous fiscal year. This grant follows the same guidelines for reimbursement as all previous Homeland Security Grants. Emergency Services will use this grant for planning activities especially those having to do with border issues.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Emergency Services will complete the required paperwork and forward this to the Arizona Department of Homeland Security to finalize the grant process.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If this grant is not approved, the money will revert back to the Arizona Department of Homeland Security. The project listed will not be funded and will not be accomplished.
