Ratify the adoption of resolution 16-48 regarding the 2017 Legislative Priorities.
Background:
CSA staff has begun to set up meetings with different legislators from both sides of the aisle and with various legislative and executive staff about our fiscal and legislative priorities for the coming session. The message we’ll be delivering was adopted by the Board of Directors at the summit and focuses on restoring counties to fiscal health:
- Eliminate the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections cost shift.
- Eliminate any shifts from the Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) to other state agencies and programs and fully fund HURF.
- Maintain and possibly expand the counties’ share of the lottery revenues.
- Extend the county “Flexibility Language” to use any source of county revenue to meet a county fiscal obligation for FY2018.
