Approve Agreement 17-AZDOHS-HSGP-170401-01 between the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office for the purchase of new ballistic vests, helmets and radio headsets for the SWAT team in the amount of $17,600 for the period of October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018.
Background:
In order to ensure our ballistic vests and helmets stay within the manufactures warranty they need to be replaced every 5 years. The radio headsets will provide enhanced radio communication as well as added safety to our deputies hearing.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The contract will be sent back to AZDOHS for final approval. Price quotes will then be obtained and the equipment will be purchased and issued to the SWAT team.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Sheriff's Office would not have the funding for these purchases during this fiscal year. An alternate funding source will need to be located.
