Approve the award of Invitation for Bid 18-11-FAC-03 for the Cochise County Law Library renovation to B-R Constructors Inc. in the amount of $84,600.
Background:
IFB 18-11-FAC-03 Law Library Renovation was prepared and released on October 11, 2017 via the Publicpurchase.com website. The bid was advertised in the San Pedro Valley News-Sun on October 11th and 18th, 2017 and was posted in the Cochise County Procurement website. Bid was accessed by 33 entities registered in the PublicPurchase.com database. A mandatory on-site job walk/ pre-bid meeting was held October 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Cochise County Law Library located inside the Court Building, 100 Quality Hill Bisbee, AZ 85603. Two(2) potential contractors attended. Both contractors submitted bids by the IFB closing date November 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Bid tabulation is attached.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Issue Notice to Proceed. Execute contract. Obtain performance bond, payment bond and certificate of insurance.Schedule and conduct pre-construction meeting and monitor contractors performance.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Law library space will continue to deteriorate and will not be consistent with the new vision and scope of the law library and self service center.
