Agenda Item Text:
Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Cochise County Superintendent's Office and the Yavapai County Superintendent's Office where Yavapai County will be the E-RATE consultant effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
Background:
The school districts who participate in the Cochise County Educational Technology Consortium will be eligible.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the Yavapai County E-RATE consultant will submit paperwork to the FCC to begin the process. After the paperwork is approved, bids for the construction costs will go out to local providers.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Schools will not have the opportunity for 100% of their construction costs to be covered by the FCC and the State of Arizona. Districts will have to apply for the funds on their own, without the bidding power that a consortium brings.
