Information

Agenda Item Text:

Approve Fiscal Year 2018-19 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant offer in the amount of $55,000 for design only to Replace Runway 17/35 Edge Lighting, Signage, and upgrade Electrical Vault for Bisbee Douglas International Airport, effective September 14, 2018.

Background:

This project was identified in the Airport Master Plan and ACIP (Airport Capital Improvement Plan) and listed on the ALP (Airport Layout Plan).  It was originally scheduled for design and construction this FY but due to estimated project cost exceeding our FAA entitlement funds, we will be doing design only this FY and construction in FY 19/20.  The funding breakdown is:  FAA 91.06%;  ADOT 4.47%; and Cochise County 4.47%.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Facilities Director will scan signed documents and email to ADOT and FAA, and will mail hard copy original to Brad Davis, FAA project engineer.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If not approved the county will not receive the necessary design, engineering, repairs, and upgrades outlined in the project scope for Bisbee Douglas International Airport.  Project cost is: $55,970.82 FAA;  $50,967.19 ADOT; and $2,501.91 Cochise County.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
