Approve the award letter from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDHS) Grant 2018 in the amount of $17,000 between (AZDHS) and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, effective October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019.
Background:
The Sheriff's Office received an award letter from AZDHS in the amount of $17,000.00. The funds will be utilized to purchase 5 ballistic vests and 5 ballistic helmets for our SWAT operators.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If the grant is approved, the Sheriff's Office will obtain price quotes for the requested equipment. The lowest quote will be accepted and the equipment will be purchased and issued to our SWAT team.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If the grant is not approved, 5 of our SWAT operators will have to use expired ballistic vests and ballistic helmets. Thes items usually expire after 5-years of use.

2 copies of the grant agreements will be fowarded to the BOS. If approved, please sign both copies of the grant agreement and return to the Sheriff's Office.
