Adopt Resolution 18-23 to approve participation in the Census 2020 Complete County Committee and encourage every person in Cochise County to be counted.
Background:
The next U.S. Census will occur on April 1, 2020. In order to make this census as accurate a count of the country’s population as possible, the U.S. Census Bureau has requested that local governments establish “complete count committees”. The purpose of these committees is to encourage residents to participate in the Census. A complete count committee is a volunteer committee established by local governments and/or community leaders to increase awareness about the census and motivate residents in the community to respond.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Continue to work with jurisdictions in Cochise County and participate in the Cochise County Complete Count Committee.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Cochise County will not partner with other County jurisdictions in a Complete Count Committee.
